A deficit of $6.6 billion was recorded in the Government's financial results in February. A surplus of $43.2 billion was seen for the 11 months ending February.
The Financial Services & the Treasury Bureau said $15.5 billion in revenue was collected during the month, while the Government spent $22.1 billion.
Spending for the April-February period was $258.5 billion and revenue was $301.7 billion. Fiscal reserves stood at $536.1 billion at the end of February.
The bureau said the February figures do not reflect the injections to Mandatory Provident Fund accounts and the Research Endowment Fund as well as payments for Sichuan reconstruction which were made in March.
