Henry Tang to lead Sichuan aid committee
Hong Kong Chief Secretary for Administration Henry Tang has been chosen to chair the Steering Committee on the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's Support for Reconstruction in the Sichuan Earthquake Stricken Areas.
The committee will oversee and co-ordinate Hong Kong's contribution to reconstruction work in quake-affected areas and liaise with Mainland authorities.
Members include the Financial Secretary, plus bureau and department heads.
Mr Tang will accompany Chief Executive Donald Tsang for his Sichuan visit June 27 to 29. They will discuss with Sichuan authorities how Hong Kong can help them rebuild.
Financial Secretary John Tsang will be Acting Chief Executive and Secretary for Education Michael Suen will be Acting Chief Secretary for Administration during the trip.
